About Rev. Gail Foss

Reverend Gail Foss is a former nursing director of the Chemical Dependency Institute at EMMC (Kelly Program) and the former Clinical Director and Head Nurse at Hope House. In 1990 she began an outpatient program, New Dawn Associates, which operated out of three locations in Maine – Bangor, Camden and Ellsworth. After directing the program for almost ten years,

Gail created a new Center for Holistic recovery in Bangor, Maine.

Gail has been facilitating spiritual retreats since 1989, a true passion of hers. To enhance her spiritual practices, Gail studied under a Native American Medicine Woman and a Shamanic Counselor, completing numerous Shamanic Studies retreats. In 2021, Gail was proud to complete her Masters degree in Shamanic Intuitional Practices from Venus Rising University, 

accredited through the University of North Carolina.

Her additional professional training includes completion of a Professional in Residence Family Program at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, CA, enhancing her work with families impacted by addiction. She stays connected to the professional community in her area through facilitation of women’s “Healing the Wounded Healer” groups, supporting others in the trenches.

Gail has facilitated numerous retreats across New England and in the Virgin Island.  She is a skilled and passionate facilitator. In addition to retreats, support group and workshop facilitation, Gail is a certified Reiki Master. Her professional practice includes traditional, goal-oriented counseling, Couples in Recovery Counseling, and experiential, transpersonal, psycho-drama, music, movement and art therapies.

In 2021, Gail co-authored Shamanic Breathwork: the Nature of Change, with world-renowned Shamanic Breathwork founder and teacher, Linda Star Wolf. The book is a collaborative project with contributions from shamanic breathwork practitioners, energy healers and therapists from around the globe.
